Benson Corridor Twenty Minute Neighborhood Plan Planning Services
The City of Kent is seeking qualified consulting firms to develop a comprehensive Benson Corridor Twenty Minute Neighborhood Plan. This project aims to guide land use, transportation, and redevelopment strategies along a four-mile corridor to create a more connected, resilient, and equitable community. The selected consultant will lead community engagement efforts, conduct housing affordability and displacement analyses, evaluate redevelopment potential, and incorporate climate resilience strategies. The plan will support multimodal transportation, promote small business growth, and align with existing planning efforts such as the City’s Comprehensive Plan and Transportation Master Plan. Deliverables will include design guidelines, zoning and policy recommendations, capital improvement strategies, and environmental review documentation. The final outcome will be an implementation-ready corridor plan that supports transformation into a walkable, transit-oriented “20-minute neighborhood” while meeting federal and state requirements and incorporating equity-focused planning principles.
