Classification and Compensation Study for District Attorney’s Office
The County of Alameda is seeking qualified consultants to conduct a comprehensive classification and compensation study for its District Attorney’s Office. The study aims to evaluate and modernize the current job classification structure and compensation framework to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, and alignment with organizational goals. The selected contractor will assess approximately 58 classifications across over 400 filled positions, reviewing job duties, classification accuracy, and compliance with labor standards such as the Fair Labor Standards Act. The project includes conducting position description questionnaires, stakeholder interviews, and labor market benchmarking against comparable Bay Area jurisdictions. Additionally, the consultant will analyze compensation structures, identify disparities, and develop data-driven salary recommendations. Deliverables include a full classification review, compensation analysis, preliminary salary recommendations, and a final comprehensive report with actionable insights. The study is intended to support strategic workforce planning, improve transparency, and ensure fair and competitive compensation practices across the department.
