Engineering Design Services for Public Right of Way Americans With Disabilities Act Improvements and Bicycle Wayfinding Measure I
The City of Santa Clara is seeking qualified firms to provide comprehensive engineering design services for two major infrastructure initiatives: public right-of-way accessibility improvements and a citywide bicycle wayfinding system. The ADA improvements component involves preliminary engineering, field verification, and preparation of construction bid documents to address accessibility barriers identified in the City’s ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan. This includes curb ramps, sidewalk grading, traffic signal upgrades, and removal of obstructions. The bicycle wayfinding component requires analysis of existing recommendations, development of signage design concepts, coordination with advisory committees, and preparation of construction documents to support installation. The selected consultant will also engage in community outreach, validate proposed routes, and ensure compliance with Measure I funding requirements. The project aims to enhance mobility, safety, and accessibility across the city while supporting long-term infrastructure planning and active transportation goals.
