Enterprise Collection Management System for Lancaster Museum of Art and History
The City of Lancaster is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors to provide an enterprise-level Collection Management System for the Lancaster Museum of Art and History. The project includes implementation of a secure, scalable, and configurable digital platform to manage approximately 10,000 collection items and associated records. The selected system must support core museum functions such as cataloging, provenance tracking, condition reporting, loans management, insurance documentation, and rights management. The scope also includes migration of data from the existing PastPerfect system, system configuration, staff training, and ongoing technical support. The system should enhance data accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with museum industry standards, including those established by the American Alliance of Museums. Additionally, the platform should support public-facing access through a web portal, enabling improved transparency, research access, and community engagement. Overall, the project aims to modernize the museum’s collections infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and support long-term stewardship and governance of cultural assets.
