Pharmacy Benefits Manager Services
Deschutes County is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide Pharmacy Benefits Manager services in support of its employee health benefits program. The selected contractor will work in coordination with the County’s healthcare providers to manage prescription drug benefits for approximately 1,300 employees and over 3,500 covered members, processing around 30,000 annual pharmacy claims. The scope includes formulary management, clinical programs, pricing transparency, rebate administration, reporting, and integration with onsite clinics and pharmacy services. The County aims to enhance cost efficiency, improve clinical outcomes, and ensure transparency in pharmacy benefit operations. Proposers will be evaluated based on pricing structure, clinical capabilities, service implementation, data access, and experience with employer-based health programs. The resulting contract is expected to begin in January 2027 with potential extensions.
