Pre-Employment Background Check Services
The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board is seeking a contractor to provide pre-employment background check services for applicants to its Enforcement and Education Division. The work supports the agency’s public safety mission by helping assess the suitability of enforcement officer candidates and related law enforcement or corrections applicants covered by Washington law. Services may include employment verification, public records checks, education verification, and delivery of a Background Investigation Summary Report through a secure web-based portal. Required reporting must include findings from verifications, public record results, disciplinary and decertification information where applicable, driving and military history, extremist affiliation screening, internet and social networking checks, tattoo disclosure, and at least twelve developed reference checks. The contractor must be able to perform services statewide, securely store data, and provide cloud-based access for agency administrators. The initial contract term is two years, with possible extensions, and the agency expects about 15 to 20 background checks annually.
