Recycling Stewardship and Waste Station Program Consultant
The City of Kirkland is seeking a qualified consultant to design, implement, and manage a Recycling Stewardship and Waste Station Program building upon a successful 2025 pilot initiative. The program aims to enhance community engagement in waste reduction and recycling practices by deploying staffed waste stations at public events. The selected consultant will be responsible for developing program structure, creating educational curriculum, and training volunteers to improve waste sorting accuracy and reduce contamination. The scope includes community outreach, including multicultural engagement strategies, coordination with city departments and event organizers, and conducting surveys to measure effectiveness. The consultant will also oversee program implementation, monitor performance metrics such as waste diversion rates, and provide detailed reporting aligned with grant requirements. Funded through the King County Waste Reduction and Recycling grant program, this initiative supports environmental sustainability goals and promotes public awareness of responsible waste management practices across the community.
