The City of San Diego, through its Economic Development Department, is seeking a qualified Wi-Fi services partner to establish and maintain free public Wi-Fi access points throughout key downtown areas. This partnership aims to enhance digital equity, support economic development, and expand access to city services for residents, visitors, and underserved communities. The selected partner will operate and maintain approximately 100 wireless access points installed on city-owned infrastructure such as light poles. In addition to technical deployment, the partner is expected to contribute to community engagement through branding, marketing initiatives, and public service campaigns. The agreement includes compliance with federal and local regulations, data privacy requirements, and operational standards. This initiative supports workforce development, tourism, and inclusive access to digital resources.
