Seattle Wellfield Modeling and Analysis
The City of Seattle, through Seattle Public Utilities, is seeking a consultant to provide groundwater modeling and technical analysis in support of water-right permitting for the Seattle Wellfield. The work includes reviewing existing hydrogeologic data and prior reports, developing and documenting a modeling approach, updating or rebuilding the groundwater model in MODFLOW-6, and conducting analysis to determine operational impacts on Miller Creek, Des Moines Creek, and the non-tidal Green River. The consultant will also help develop a conceptual mitigation plan and final mitigation strategy needed to support permanent groundwater rights. The selected team is expected to coordinate with Seattle Public Utilities, Ecology, and stakeholders including Tribal Nations, while preparing technical memoranda, presentations, updated reports of examination, and final permitting support materials. The city is looking for a team with strong hydrogeologic, groundwater modeling, and permitting expertise, along with the ability to manage schedule, budget, and technical deliverables over a multi-year project.
