Speed Safety Camera Program Expansion
The City of Bellevue is seeking qualified vendors to provide a comprehensive, turnkey Speed Safety Camera (SSC) program to support its Vision Zero initiative aimed at eliminating traffic fatalities and serious injuries. The project involves the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of automated speed enforcement systems deployed at high-risk locations across the city. The selected vendor will supply and manage SSC units capable of capturing high-quality evidentiary images and video of speeding violations, ensuring compliance with Washington State laws and local regulations. The system must maintain high operational uptime, support police review and adjudication processes, and include secure data handling and reporting capabilities. Additional responsibilities include customer service, public education, and ongoing system maintenance. The program is expected to expand over time, incorporating multiple deployment phases and additional camera locations to enhance traffic safety outcomes.
