The County of San Mateo is seeking a qualified curriculum consultant to revise and enhance existing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) lessons for its Inspiring Summers program under The Big Lift initiative. This summer learning program serves students entering kindergarten through third grade and aims to prevent summer learning loss while improving early literacy outcomes. The consultant will review and update approximately 65–80 lesson plans to better integrate foundational literacy skills, social-emotional learning, cultural relevance, and youth development best practices. The work includes aligning lessons with program goals, embedding literacy development into project-based learning activities, and providing clear facilitator guidance for implementation. The consultant will also incorporate differentiation strategies for multilingual learners and diverse student needs. The final deliverables will include revised lessons, instructional supports, and a summary of design decisions. The project is expected to be completed within 8 to 11 weeks.
