WHAT THEY WANT
(Summarized from the RFP)
The University of Washington is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) to gather market intelligence from Student Information System (SIS) software vendors as part of its multi-year Student Systems Transformation (SST) Program. The University's current SIS runs on a decades-old COBOL-based mainframe with layered integrations, UW-developed web applications, and numerous vendor systems added over time — a fragmented ecosystem that limits efficiency, constrains analytics, and presents growing operational risk. This RFI is part of Phase 1 (Discovery) of the SST Program and is intended to inform a comprehensive business case and executive recommendation that will guide future procurement and implementation phases. A resulting RFP is anticipated.
