Uncontrolled Crosswalk Enhancements Project Plan Specifications and Estimate
The City of San Leandro is seeking qualified consulting firms to develop Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for the Uncontrolled Crosswalk Enhancements Project. This initiative focuses on improving pedestrian safety at seven uncontrolled crosswalk locations across the city. The project stems from findings in the City’s Local Roadway Safety Plan, which identified a need to reduce pedestrian-related collisions, including severe injuries and fatalities, particularly at unsignalized intersections. The selected consultant will be responsible for project management, stakeholder and utility coordination, and the preparation of 35%, 65%, and 100% PS&E design packages. Additional responsibilities include conducting surveys, preparing technical reports, and supporting design services during construction. The project is funded through the Highway Safety Improvement Program and aims to enhance visibility, accessibility, and safety for pedestrians while complying with federal and state design standards.
