WHAT THEY WANT
(Summarized from the RFP)
The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, through its Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Program, is seeking airborne remote-sensing data collection and analysis on the Tucannon River near Dayton in southeastern Washington. The project covers roughly 50 miles of mainstem and about 18 miles of lower tributaries, approximately 8,106 acres of valley bottom, with the final extent depending on acquisition cost. The 2026 data set will replicate surveys flown in 2010, 2017 and 2020 so the river can be compared before and after a flood of roughly 50-year magnitude in March 2026 and the habitat restoration projects already built.
