Accelerator Operator
The City of Irvine is seeking Statements of Qualifications from experienced accelerator operators to establish a pre-qualified pool of firms eligible to operate a new Accelerator Program as part of the proposed Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The Accelerator will serve as a centralized commercialization hub supporting early-stage startups in high-growth sectors, including enabling and creative technologies, healthcare innovation, climate transition and decarbonization, and next-generation defense technologies. The selected operator will be responsible for designing, launching, and managing accelerator programming; deploying investment capital; sourcing and funding startups; providing mentorship and commercialization support; building national and global partnerships; and overseeing physical innovation center operations, including coworking and lab space. The initiative aims to strengthen Irvine’s innovation ecosystem, increase access to venture capital, create high-quality jobs, and position the City as a leading regional hub for startup formation and technology commercialization.
