Airport Planning, Environmental, Airport Engineering and Project Management Services
The County of Kern Department of Airports is seeking qualified consulting firms to provide airport planning, environmental analysis, airport engineering, and project management services for airport construction and development projects. The selected consultants will support planning and environmental documentation, civil engineering design, construction administration, and project management activities associated with airport infrastructure improvements. Services may include conceptual planning, environmental review and compliance documentation, schematic and detailed design, preparation of construction documents, cost estimates, scheduling, bidding support, construction monitoring, inspection, and project reporting. The consultant will also assist the County in coordinating with the Federal Aviation Administration and the California Division of Aeronautics to secure funding and comply with regulatory requirements, including obligations under the Airport Improvement Program and environmental review processes such as the National Environmental Policy Act and the California Environmental Quality Act. The work will support capital improvement projects across multiple County-operated airports over a five‑year planning horizon.
