The County of San Mateo is seeking a qualified contractor to develop, host, and maintain a comprehensive digital platform that provides real-time beach safety and ocean conditions data to the public. The platform will deliver location-specific information, including wave height, rip current risk, wind speed, water temperature, and other hazard indicators, for individual beaches throughout the county. The system must integrate data from local, regional, and national sources, provide clear hazard alerts, and offer an intuitive, multilingual, and mobile-friendly user experience. The platform must meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards and include features for easy content updates by the county. The selected contractor will also be responsible for hosting, cybersecurity protections, and ongoing maintenance, as well as providing user engagement analytics and reports. The project is expected to reach full launch within 90 days of contract award and support safer decision-making for residents and visitors along the coastline.
