Behavioral Health Services Act Early Intervention for Youth
The County of Marin Department of Health and Human Services is seeking community-based organizations or educational agencies to deliver early-intervention behavioral health services to children and youth ages 0–18. Funded through the Behavioral Health Services Act, the projects focus on outreach, early screening, referral, and short‑term treatment services to address mental health and substance use risks before conditions become severe. Services will target priority populations, including children exposed to trauma, youth experiencing homelessness, justice‑involved or child welfare‑involved youth, LGBTQ+ youth, and other underserved groups. Contractors will provide culturally responsive outreach, developmental and trauma screenings, care navigation, short‑term counseling, and referrals to appropriate treatment or support services. The goal is to reduce disparities in behavioral health access, improve educational and social outcomes, prevent escalation of mental health conditions, and support youth in remaining safely within their homes and communities. Multiple projects are funded across geographic regions, with awards ranging from $200,000 to $300,000 per project.
