The City of Kent is seeking qualified consulting firms to provide transportation planning and pre-engineering services in support of the Benson Corridor 20-Minute Neighborhood Plan. This project aims to enhance the City’s 2044 Comprehensive Plan by evaluating existing transportation and land use conditions along a four-mile corridor and recommending improvements that promote accessibility, resilience, and multimodal connectivity. The selected consultant will collaborate with a separate planning team, engage stakeholders, and incorporate equity-focused strategies into project development. Key tasks include data collection, technical analysis, infrastructure evaluation, development of mitigation strategies, and preparation of planning-level designs, cost estimates, and project lists. The work will also involve coordination with Washington State Department of Transportation and integration with regional transit developments such as the RapidRide I-Line. The outcome will inform updates to the City’s Transportation Master Plan and Transportation Improvement Program, ensuring alignment with long-term growth and mobility goals.
