WHAT THEY WANT
(Summarized from the RFP)
The City of San Luis Obispo and California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly) are seeking one qualified operator to develop, implement and manage a shared bicycle system for residents, students, employees and visitors. The City and Cal Poly envision a dock-based, virtual and/or physical, electric pedal-assist system operating year-round, 24 hours a day, with bicycles that stay within Class 1 e-bike speeds and carry automatic lights, although proposals may suggest other models, including pedal bicycles. The program supports the City's General Plan Circulation Element, Active Transportation Plan, Climate Action Plan and Vision Zero goal, and Cal Poly's Campus Master Plan and Climate Action Plan.
