WHAT THEY WANT

(Summarized from the RFP)

The City of Beaumont is seeking a qualified consultant or consultant team to prepare a comprehensive Citywide Facilities Needs Assessment and Facility Planning Study covering the City's facilities and properties, including its Main Campus. The team must bring, in-house or through subconsultants, expertise in facility planning and architecture, building condition assessment, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural evaluation, roofing and building envelope, fire and life safety, accessibility, civil and site planning, cost estimating, space programming, and municipal and public safety facility planning, with licensed California professionals overseeing any architectural or engineering work.

WHAT OTHERS ASKED

20 questions answered

▶

May we please get a break down of facilities included in the assessment with each building's corresponding square footage?

Scope/requirements

▶

Would the selected firm be precluded from pursuing any future Architectural-Engineering design project RFP’s associated with this Needs Assessment?

Eligibility

▶

Please confirm that the Facility/Property List provided with the RFP represents the complete list of facilities and properties to be included in the Consultant's base scope and fee. Are parks, recreation facilities, transit facilities, or other City-owned facilities not identified on the Facility/Property List excluded unless subsequently added by written authorization?

Scope/requirements

▶

Can the City provide approximate building square footage and the number of individual buildings/structures located at each property identified on the Facility/Property List, together with available floor plans, site plans, or record drawings that may be relied upon for proposal-level estimating?

Scope/requirements

▶

The Facility/Property List identifies APN 414120042 as both the 4.09-acre Fire Station 106 property and a separate approximately 52-acre vacant City-owned property. Please clarify the correct APN and acreage for each property.

Scope/requirements

▶

Please clarify the intended level of facility condition observation included in the base scope versus Optional Task 8. Specifically, should the base scope include only planning-level observations sufficient to characterize facility functionality and general condition, with detailed system/component assessments, deficiencies, FCI calculations, remaining useful life and life-cycle renewal forecasts reserved for Optional Task 8?
