The City of Tumwater, in partnership with Thurston County Public Health and Social Services, is soliciting applications for projects funded through the federal Community Development Block Grant program. The funding is intended to support activities that primarily benefit low- and moderate-income residents. Eligible uses include public services, affordable housing activities, public facilities, infrastructure improvements, and related community development projects. Examples include job training, health and social services, housing rehabilitation, affordable housing acquisition, infrastructure improvements supporting housing, and community facilities. Projects must meet federal program objectives, demonstrate benefits to low-income populations, and comply with HUD regulations and reporting requirements. Nonprofit organizations and government agencies serving Tumwater residents are eligible to apply. The City of Tumwater will evaluate proposals based on eligibility, feasibility, and the applicant’s capacity to implement and manage the project in accordance with federal and local requirements.
