The County of Kern Department of Public Works is seeking a qualified consultant to provide comprehensive marketing, sales, and distribution services for compost and organic materials produced at its solid waste facilities. These materials include compost, compost mulch, compost overs, and processed wood waste. The selected consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing a marketing program, identifying and cultivating end markets, and ensuring compliance with California Senate Bill 1383 and other regulatory requirements. Services include logistics coordination, transportation, customer tracking, invoicing, and revenue-sharing mechanisms. The consultant will also support operational improvements to enhance product marketability and sustainability. The overall goal is to maximize the beneficial reuse of organic materials by connecting them with agricultural, commercial, and environmental applications while supporting local communities and sustainability initiatives. The contract term is expected to span three to five years.
