Cross Connection Assessment Services
The City of South Gate is soliciting proposals from qualified consultants to perform high hazard cross connection assessments for its water distribution system. The project involves evaluating approximately 1,559 commercial and 86 industrial sites to identify and document actual and potential cross-connections that could pose contamination risks. The selected consultant will conduct on-site inspections, assess backflow prevention assemblies, and determine hazard levels in compliance with state and local regulations. In addition to field assessments, the consultant will provide structured training to City staff to ensure long-term program sustainability and regulatory compliance. Deliverables include detailed assessment reports, standardized procedures, and data entry into City systems. The overall goal is to protect public health by preventing backflow contamination and ensuring the City’s water infrastructure meets California regulatory standards.
