Day Treatment Intensive Services for Adult Medi-Cal Beneficiaries
The County of Orange Health Care Agency is seeking proposals from qualified organizations to provide Day Treatment Intensive services for adult Medi-Cal beneficiaries diagnosed with serious mental illness. The program is designed as a structured, multidisciplinary therapeutic service that functions as an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization or as support to maintain individuals in community-based settings. Providers must deliver intensive behavioral health services for at least three hours per day and less than twenty-four hours daily, offering both full-day and half-day treatment programs. Services include individual and group therapy, medication support services, case management, psychosocial rehabilitation, crisis intervention, and care coordination. Programs must operate at least six days per week and ensure transportation support for participants when necessary. Services are intended for adults with qualifying diagnoses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, or severe anxiety disorders who meet medical necessity criteria under Medi-Cal Specialty Mental Health Services. The selected providers must comply with California Department of Health Care Services regulations, Medi-Cal billing requirements, data reporting standards, and HIPAA compliance while delivering person-centered and culturally responsive behavioral health treatment services.
