WHAT THEY WANT
(Summarized from the RFP)
The Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) is seeking a nationwide death identification service that lets it check its pension rolls against vital records. PERS administers retirement, disability and death benefits for Oregon's state, school district and local government employees, serving roughly 228,000 non-retired members, 156,500 retired members or beneficiaries and 900 public employers. Benefits must stop when a recipient dies, so timely, reliable death data is essential to preventing overpayments.
