Development of City Landscape Design Standards
The City of Menifee is soliciting proposals from qualified consulting firms to develop updated Landscape Design Standards and Water Efficient Landscape Regulations. The project aims to modernize the City’s existing 2015 standards to align with current state regulations, sustainability practices, and adopted planning documents. The selected consultant will conduct a comprehensive review of existing codes, policies, and environmental requirements, and develop a standards manual addressing landscaping across public rights-of-way, parks, and various development types. The scope includes stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance review, preparation of design frameworks, and development of implementation tools and ordinance language. The updated standards will promote water efficiency, climate resilience, urban design quality, and long-term maintainability while supporting community identity and mobility goals. The consultant will also assist with adoption processes, including presentations and revisions, ensuring the final standards are practical, consistent, and aligned with City objectives.
