Environmental Mitigation, Monitoring, and Reporting Program Services
The City of Downey is soliciting proposals from qualified consulting firms to provide Environmental Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program (MMRP) services for the Space Shuttle Exhibit and Education Building project at the Columbia Memorial Space Center campus. The project involves expanding the facility by developing a new exhibition building to house the Space Shuttle Inspiration, additional STEM classrooms, and outdoor gathering areas for educational programming. The selected consultant will administer the Environmental Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program established under the California Environmental Quality Act. Responsibilities include project management, environmental monitoring during construction and post-construction phases, compliance reporting, biological monitoring for nesting bird protections, cultural and paleontological resource oversight, Worker Environmental Awareness Program training, and coordination with tribal monitors to ensure environmental mitigation compliance.
