FEMA Flood Impacts Environmental and Permitting Clearance Services
Kings County, California, is seeking qualified consulting firms to provide environmental review and permitting services associated with infrastructure repairs following significant flooding in 2023. The flooding caused erosion and displacement of riprap and embankment protection materials at multiple bridge locations throughout the county. The County intends to restore these sites to their pre-disaster condition in accordance with Federal Emergency Management Agency requirements and applicable environmental regulations. The selected consultant will conduct environmental studies, prepare documentation required under the California Environmental Quality Act, and assist with securing all required environmental permits. This work may include preparation of environmental analyses such as Negative Declarations, Mitigated Negative Declarations, or Environmental Impact Reports depending on regulatory requirements. The consultant will also coordinate technical elements of environmental compliance, maintain project schedules, and support project development activities necessary for FEMA-related recovery work. The goal is to ensure the proposed repair activities at several bridge locations meet state and federal environmental standards and can proceed efficiently while minimizing environmental impacts and regulatory risk.
