Food Service Site Reviews
The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) is seeking a contractor to conduct food service site reviews for sponsors operating the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) during the summer of 2026. The contractor will support OSPI’s Child Nutrition Services team in meeting federal monitoring requirements under 7 CFR Part 225 and ensuring program integrity, compliance, and effective meal service delivery. Work includes participating in pre-review virtual meetings; completing required OSPI training modules; shadowing OSPI staff on site reviews; and conducting on-site, unannounced reviews at sponsor locations across Washington State (up to 30 total), including any follow-up activities OSPI requires. Respondents may propose statewide coverage or specific regions, but must clearly identify the counties they can serve. Reviews will use OSPI-provided forms and will assess meal pattern compliance, operational procedures, and recordkeeping. The contractor will coordinate review dates within the assigned month, notify OSPI at least 48 hours in advance, and submit findings and documentation on OSPI’s required timelines. The initial contract period is anticipated to run from May 1 through September 30, 2026.
