General Plan Resource Management Element
Mendocino County is seeking qualified consulting firms to assist with updating the Resource Management Element of the County General Plan to comply with California Senate Bill 1425. The project focuses on revising the Open Space Element to address equitable access to open space resources based on social, economic, and racial factors while incorporating climate resilience and rewilding opportunities. The selected consultant will provide technical planning and environmental services, including policy development, land use planning, stakeholder engagement, tribal consultation, mapping, and preparation of environmental documentation required under the California Environmental Quality Act. Additional responsibilities include facilitating community engagement activities, supporting Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors hearings, and managing overall project administration. The consultant will work closely with County staff and partner agencies to prepare amendments that satisfy statutory requirements and support resilient, inclusive, and interconnected communities and ecosystems throughout Mendocino County.
