Green Business Program Administration
The City of Carlsbad is seeking a qualified consultant to administer the Carlsbad Green Business Program, which promotes environmentally sustainable practices among local businesses. The program supports the City’s Climate Action Plan by encouraging energy and water efficiency, waste reduction, sustainable purchasing, and the use of environmentally responsible building materials. The selected consultant will manage program operations through the California Green Business Network platform, coordinate outreach and recruitment of participating businesses, assist organizations through the certification process, and build partnerships with community organizations such as the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce. Responsibilities include conducting outreach campaigns, organizing recognition events for certified businesses, providing training and support to participating companies, tracking performance metrics, and reporting program achievements to the City. The consultant will also promote rebates for certified businesses and help expand participation in the program. Overall, the project aims to strengthen Carlsbad’s sustainability initiatives while increasing the adoption of environmentally responsible business practices across the local business community.
