Greenwood Cove Flood Study
The Marin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District is soliciting qualifications and proposals from consulting firms to conduct the Greenwood Cove Flood Study in the Tiburon area of Marin County, California. The project focuses on assessing existing drainage and stormwater infrastructure and analyzing flood-reduction improvements in an area influenced by tides, storm events, and sea levels. Work includes an existing conditions assessment, historical flood characterization, field inspections, topographic surveys, and the development of hydrologic and hydraulic models of the storm drain system. Consultants will evaluate system performance under various storm and tide scenarios and identify up to five flood mitigation alternatives. These alternatives will be ranked and refined, with two advanced for detailed evaluation, including life-cycle cost, constructability, permitting complexity, and level of flood protection. The study will culminate in a comprehensive report recommending practical, cost-effective, and implementable drainage and flood reduction solutions to reduce roadway inundation and community disruption.
