WHAT THEY WANT

(Summarized from the RFP)

The City of San Diego's Public Utilities Department (PUD) is seeking a vendor to procure, implement, configure, and support a modern, integrated Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to replace a custom-built solution that has been in use for over 30 years. PUD's Environmental Monitoring and Technical Services Division operates eight California Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program-accredited laboratories across seven facilities, staffed by 230 employees. The laboratories collect over 100,000 samples, run over 400,000 analyses, and generate approximately 3,000 reports per year in support of drinking water, recycled water, wastewater, stormwater, and biosolids programs — with regulatory reporting obligations to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the California State Water Resources Control Board, the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board, and the Arizona Department of Environmental Health.
