Language Service Providers (Interpretation, Translation, and Transcreation)
Pierce County is soliciting proposals from qualified language service providers to deliver professional interpretation, translation, and transcreation services to ensure equitable access to County programs and services. The County seeks to establish multiple on-call contracts to support spoken language interpretation (in-person, telephone, video remote), American Sign Language services, written translation, and culturally responsive transcreation support. Services must comply with federal and state requirements including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Americans with Disabilities Act. The scope includes emergency and non-emergency language services across business, legal, medical, and community settings. Vendors must demonstrate quality assurance processes, culturally competent practices, data reporting capabilities, and compliance with confidentiality standards. The County also anticipates a large-scale upfront translation initiative and requires flexible pricing models incorporating machine translation and human review under a defined tiered framework.
