Oak Street Columbia Irrigation District Bridge Replacement Engineering Services
Benton County is seeking qualified consulting firms to provide civil and structural engineering services for the replacement of the Oak Street bridge at the Columbia Irrigation District canal crossing. The selected consultant will support the design phase and may assist with bidding and construction management activities. The project includes demolition of the existing bridge, engineering design of a new substructure, superstructure, deck, rail system, and approach guardrails, along with evaluation and potential upgrades to bridge approaches. Additional responsibilities include geotechnical investigation, traffic control and detour planning, preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates, and load rating analysis to meet Washington State Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration standards. The consultant will also prepare environmental documentation and coordinate necessary permit applications and regulatory approvals. The bridge serves as the only public access route to approximately 260 homes and nearby agricultural operations, making schedule efficiency critical. The county seeks a consultant experienced with federally funded transportation projects and compliance with WSDOT and FHWA requirements.
