Oceanside Drug-Free Community Initiative
The City of Oceanside Department of Housing and Neighborhood Services is soliciting proposals for evidence-based Substance Use Disorder prevention, intervention, and treatment services targeting vulnerable youth in grades 6–12. Funded through California Opioid Settlement funds, this initiative supports direct services that address opioid and fentanyl misuse and broader substance use risks among Oceanside youth. Programs must implement culturally responsive, developmentally appropriate, and evidence-based practices, including prevention education, intervention services, mental health referrals, Medication-Assisted Treatment, and recovery support. Priority populations include at-risk youth, justice-involved youth, youth experiencing homelessness, LGBTQ+ youth, and those living in opportunity neighborhoods. The City anticipates awarding approximately $350,000 for a one-year term from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Grantees must provide a 25 percent match and implement structured evaluation and reporting.
