Olallie State Park Recreation Impact Assessment
The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking a consultant to conduct a recreation impacts assessment and feasibility study for Olallie State Park. The work will evaluate how existing trails and recreation uses are affecting natural resources, especially elk, and identify management actions to reduce or mitigate current impacts. The consultant will compile and analyze trail-use, recreation, wildlife camera, and ecological data; identify data gaps; summarize relevant scientific literature; and use a geospatial risk assessment tool to identify areas where recreation may cause negative impacts or where future trail development may be feasible with negligible impacts. The selected consultant will also participate in working group meetings and help shape a detailed scope of work with State Parks. The anticipated contract term is up to six months.
