On-Call Sewer Utility, Water, and Other Engineering Services for Planning and Public Works
Pierce County Planning and Public Works Department is seeking to establish on-call contracts with multiple qualified engineering firms to support sewer and water utility operations. Services will include wastewater treatment, collection systems, water treatment and distribution, programming for control systems, electrical engineering, and structural engineering support. Consultants may be tasked with planning documentation, preliminary and final design, permitting, bid assistance, construction management, inspections, technical memoranda, cost estimating, and related professional services. Work may involve system modeling, pump stations, storage facilities, programmable logic controller programming, human machine interface development, network design, equipment assessments, seismic retrofits, and system vulnerability analysis. Some assignments may be federally funded and require compliance with federal grant and reporting requirements. The resulting agreements will be on-call, task-based contracts with no guaranteed minimum quantity of work, supporting the County’s goal of delivering cost-effective and environmentally sound sewer and water services.
