Online Provider Certification Vendor
The State of Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to serve as third-party reviewers responsible for evaluating and certifying online course providers operating within Washington’s K–12 education system. The purpose of this procurement is to implement a structured approval process that aligns with state regulations and national standards for quality online learning. Selected vendors will review and evaluate online course providers to determine eligibility for initial approval and continued certification, ensuring instructional materials, teaching practices, and program operations meet established state standards. Responsibilities include conducting provider evaluations, implementing review procedures aligned with Washington Administrative Code requirements, managing appeals processes, collecting and reporting provider data, and publishing pricing information related to instructional services. The selected contractor will also ensure compliance with privacy laws and education data standards when managing provider information. The resulting contract will establish a list of approved third-party reviewers that online course providers may engage directly to obtain certification necessary to operate in Washington’s online education environment.
