The City of Rancho Cucamonga is seeking qualified firms to provide Owner’s Engineer services for the development of a new 50 megawatt electrical substation under its municipal utility. The selected consultant will act as an independent technical advisor, providing engineering oversight, design review, procurement support, construction monitoring, and commissioning assistance throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include reviewing technical specifications, ensuring compliance with reliability and safety standards, supporting environmental and permitting coordination, and overseeing protection, control, and SCADA systems. The consultant will also assist in project controls, risk management, and final documentation. This role is critical to ensuring the project meets performance, cost, and schedule objectives while maintaining independence from the design-build contractor. The engagement spans from project initiation through final acceptance and warranty commencement.
