Owner’s Engineer Services for Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Utility
The City of Rancho Cucamonga is seeking proposals from qualified engineering firms to provide Owner’s Engineer services for the Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Utility substation project. The project involves development of a new 50 megawatt electrical substation that will support electrical load growth in the region and connect to Southern California Edison infrastructure. The selected consultant will act as the City’s independent technical representative throughout the project lifecycle. Services include assisting with project initiation, reviewing technical specifications, supporting preparation of the design build request for proposals, and providing engineering oversight during design development milestones. The consultant will review electrical, structural, grounding, protection, communication, and control system designs and monitor equipment procurement activities. During construction, the Owner’s Engineer will evaluate technical submittals, review change orders, conduct periodic site observations, and assist with testing, commissioning, and energization activities. Additional responsibilities include reviewing environmental compliance documentation, supporting project controls and reporting, and assisting the City through final project closeout and acceptance.
