The State of California, through the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS), is seeking a qualified firm to serve as a private equity consultant to its Teachers’ Retirement Board Investment Committee. The selected consultant will provide expert advice on the overall private equity investment strategy, policies, and practices across the system’s large, diversified portfolio. Services include monitoring market developments, advising on traditional and non‑traditional private equity strategies, supporting policy development, and offering rapid analysis and guidance in response to industry events affecting the portfolio. The consultant will work closely with staff and board members, participate in meetings and communications, and may be asked to review and provide recommendations on specific investment opportunities. The contract is expected to span up to three years with optional extensions, and the selected firm will act in a fiduciary capacity to support long‑term investment performance and risk management objectives.
