Public Safety Psychological Evaluations
The City of Chula Vista is seeking qualified, licensed psychological service providers to conduct post-offer, pre-employment psychological evaluations for candidates applying to public safety and social service roles, primarily within the Police and Fire Departments. The selected contractor will perform approximately 250 evaluations annually, assessing candidates’ emotional, cognitive, and behavioral suitability for high-risk positions. Services include standardized psychological testing, clinical interviews, background reviews, and risk assessments, culminating in formal suitability determinations. The contractor will also provide detailed written reports, consultation to City staff, and support during hearings or legal proceedings if required. The engagement emphasizes compliance with applicable laws, including ADA, EEO, and professional psychological standards, while ensuring confidentiality and data security. The contract is initially for one year, with options for renewal.
