The County of San Mateo Office of Community Affairs is seeking qualified legal service providers to deliver limited-scope removal defense legal services for residents facing deportation or immigration removal proceedings. The goal is to expand access to immigration legal representation, particularly for vulnerable populations such as low-income individuals, unaccompanied minors, elderly immigrants, and those at high risk of removal. Services will be provided on a per-matter basis and may include legal representation at hearings, motion preparation, legal research, evidence preparation, and pro se coaching. The County aims to build a coordinated ecosystem of immigration legal services in collaboration with other providers offering rapid response and affirmative legal services. Selected providers will also be responsible for reporting outcomes, coordinating with partners, and participating in training and technical assistance activities. The contract will be administered by the County, while service delivery will be led by providers.
