Request for Qualifications for Professional On-Call Historic Preservation Services
The City of Fresno is seeking qualified consulting firms to provide on-call historic preservation services in support of its Historic Preservation Program. The selected consultant will assist with a wide range of activities including historic resource evaluations, cultural resource management, and compliance with regulatory frameworks such as the California Environmental Quality Act and the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards. Services include reviewing development applications, conducting archival research, preparing technical studies, updating historic inventories, and supporting the Historic Preservation Commission. The consultant will also provide technical assistance to staff, developers, and the public, and contribute to preservation planning efforts such as design guidelines and municipal code updates. This engagement is structured as an as-needed contract to ensure continuity of services while the City recruits a permanent specialist. The City intends to award the contract to a single firm capable of delivering comprehensive preservation expertise.
