The City of Norwalk is soliciting bids from qualified and experienced consulting firms to provide run-cutting and scheduling services for the Norwalk Transit System fixed-route bus operations. The selected consultant will analyze and optimize transit routes, calibrate average trip runtimes, review automatic vehicle location data, prepare timetables, perform vehicle blocking, conduct run-cutting and roster-building activities, and generate operator scheduling materials compatible with existing computer-aided dispatch and automatic vehicle location systems. The project includes the preparation of scheduling documents, electronic schedule extracts in General Transit Feed Specification format, and operational reports to support transit efficiency and workforce scheduling. The consultant must utilize industry-standard transit scheduling software such as HASTUS or Trapeze and provide deliverables supporting the City’s recurring annual service changes. The contract term is from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.
