San José Fire Department Psychological Evaluation Services
The City of San José is seeking qualified service providers to conduct pre-employment psychological evaluations for candidates applying to the San José Fire Department. Evaluations will be required for classifications including Firefighters, Arson Investigators, Senior Public Safety Radio Dispatchers, Public Safety Communication Specialists, and other classifications as determined by the Department. The selected contractor must demonstrate expertise in conducting psychological evaluations for fire departments, law enforcement agencies, or similar public safety organizations, and must hold a current psychologist license issued by the California Board of Psychology. The City anticipates approximately 65 evaluations annually. The contract term is expected to be three years, with two optional one-year extensions. Services must comply with American Psychological Association standards and include appropriate psychiatric assessment models and psychological testing tools. The City intends to award to the highest-ranked responsive and responsible proposer.
