Sanitary Sewer Master Plan Update
The City of San Mateo is seeking qualified engineering firms to provide professional services for updating its Sanitary Sewer Master Plan. This effort is driven by regulatory requirements under a cease-and-desist order and aims to improve the reliability, capacity, and performance of the City’s wastewater collection system. The selected consultant will conduct comprehensive data collection, hydraulic modeling, flow monitoring, and system performance evaluations to identify deficiencies and future needs. The project includes condition assessments, seismic vulnerability analysis, and development of rehabilitation and replacement strategies. A major component involves preparing a long-term Capital Improvement Program with prioritized infrastructure upgrades and cost estimates. The consultant will also evaluate funding mechanisms and recommend sustainable financial strategies. The final deliverable will be a detailed Sewer Master Plan report that supports long-term planning, regulatory compliance, and system optimization for future growth and development.
