Service Area 6: Justice-Involved Youth Services
The County of Santa Cruz Probation Department is seeking qualified community-based organizations to provide culturally responsive, evidence-informed behavioral health services for justice-involved youth and emerging adults. The program aims to reduce recidivism, improve social and life skills, and support educational and vocational achievement while strengthening family and community connections. Services will focus on addressing risky thinking patterns, emotional and behavioral challenges, and identity development through cognitive restructuring, social skills training, decision-making, and problem-solving activities. The County prioritizes evidence-based or promising practices that align with its risk-needs-responsivity model and emphasize equity, trauma-informed care, and cultural competence. Programming may include mentorship, leadership development, individual or small group sessions, and community-based activities that promote pro-social behavior and long-term success. Contracts will support a continuum of services for moderate- to high-risk youth both in custody and in the community, with funding intended to support measurable outcomes in rehabilitation and community reintegration.
